The Guard is an auditioned extension of the band program at Onalaska High School. Students can participate in fall and winter guard at OHS. Students in the guard learn critical skills in the visual arts including dance, equipment, and teamwork! The winter portion of the season involves traveling to regional competitions of the North Star Circuit in the late winter to early spring. The guard typically practices Tuesdays and Saturdays throughout the Fall and Winter. Students who participate in Guard are also members of the band program on wind or percussive instruments.
Fall Guard Instructor: Tori Clark
Tori Clark joined the Onalaska High School Marching Band staff as the color guard instructor in the 2024 winter season. Before this role, she served as an assistant coach for the previous winter and fall guard seasons. Before joining the Onalaska staff, Tori also coached for the La Crosse Stars Cadets and the University of Wisconsin–La Crosse. She began her color guard journey as a performer in her high school’s program and continued spinning while attending UWL.
When she's not coaching, Tori works as a tax accountant. She brings her passion for the performing arts and a strong commitment to student growth to every rehearsal. Tori is thrilled to continue developing the guard program at Onalaska and is excited to build a creative, supportive, and high-energy environment where students can thrive, grow in confidence, and discover their love for the activity.
